Surgery

topic posted Tue, April 1, 2008 - 8:24 PM by  Pierced Goddess
So, my littlest one will be having surgery in May. It is an out patient thing and she will only miss two days of school. I guess I'm not really asking any questions, just venting, sharing, worrying. She had a "pit" on the side of her ear, a hole that never sealed in utero. She as she gets older it fills and becomes infected more and more often. As a baby I had put a warm compress on it and squeezed the ick out. Well, the last time she was in so much pain that she cried out in her sleep.

Yep, just venting, worrying and such....

My son also has a pit.

You are the only other mama I have found that has the same problem. How old is she? Did the pit change or get bigger or is it the same? I have been thinking that my son will have to have something done eventually- his pit is a bit bigger now than before and I can squeeze a bit of puss out frequently.

I'll think positive thoughts for you all tomorrow. Please let us know how everything goes.

Thank you all for your support.

katie, my little bed monster is now 5. The pit has gotten a bit bigger from the outside, but it holds a lot more goo now. They are going to open the pit and sew it together so there will no longer be a pit and no more icky goo!

    Thanks again!!

kia kaha (stay strong)...not easy..but necessary it sounds..the specialist wants to take out my girls tonsils and adenoids..but Iam going the other route for now...sorting out her immunity and strengthening her...its tough..shes on a strict diet bcos of food intolerances to dairy soy all sugar citrus and chemicals...but she has improved since changing her diet and giving her minerals herbs etc...

I wonder if your condition would change from any input like acupuncture herbs some modality of support to the body? Iam ignorant of what you share...but as a mother I truly wish you ease flow calm trust peace bonding deep breathing loads of hugs and yummy nourishment on all levels for you and for your pixie...

It must be so hard so see your little one undergo surgery but if this helps her in the long run then this will be the best thing to do. Hang in there mamma!

any time your baby requires surgery it can be so scary! It will be beneficial for her though, and she will be just fine! I know it's worrisome, but hang in there and i will send some positive prayers your way ;)
